Misty: Misty is a 11 year old palamino Tennessee walking horse. Her registered name with the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeder's and Exhibiters Association (TWHBEA) is "Gold and Pearls". She has excellent bloodlines that make her a beautiful horse, but it's her personality that makes her the namesake of our facilities. Bought as a 3 year old by Nicole Kroshus, Misty has always been very calm. Her favorite thing is to have people love on her. These traits make her our star lesson horse. Misty has had all ages of riders on her and has never been spooky or tried to throw her rider. She is now owned by MMS owner Norma Gilliam. Misty doesn't like to go fast unless made to do so, which makes her great for inexperienced or relatively green riders. Once you meet this eye catching girl, you won't soon forget her!
Rain: Registered with the TWHBEA and URHOEA (United Racking Horse Owners and Exhibitors Association) as "Decorator's Delight," Rain is a beautiful 21 year old tobiano TWH. Rain also used to belong to the Kroshus family before Phil and Norma Gilliam became her owners. Rescued from a muddy pit at age 13, Rain's past was always cloudy and unknown. She has had seven foals in her life time, and unfortunately at some point suffered abuse. Her checkered past makes her weary of strangers, especially men. John and Nicole, however, have built up a trust with the mare, causing her to feel safe around them. Nicole is the only person who can safely ride her, but once the pair get going they are a delight to watch! The Kroshus family has had Rain in the show ring since she was 14. Her showy gait and unique markings make her truly one of a kind.
Moose: Moose is a lovable 7 year old chestnut TWH. Registered with the TWHBEA as "Bullet's Colt 45," Moose was Misty's first and so far only foal. He is a chestnut gelding with an elegant "Roman nose." Nicole has been training her prized gelding since his birth, and he's become a gentle, easy going, and eager to please young horse. The two successsfully competed in horse shows, and are now expanding their horizons into trail riding in the mountains. Nicole usually rides Moose alongside her pupils during lessons to help demonstrate different techniques.
